Do Your Doodle and Journal
Are you a natural doodler? Do you love to draw as you talk on the
phone, wait for an appointment, or find a moment that you have a pen in
your hand and nothing pressing to write? Doodling is a fantastic way to
decorate your pages and save yourself some money as you add your own
flair and creativity to your pages.
Gather up your different color pens and you are ready to begin.
Doodling is casual and sketching in nature. Do you draw hearts and
flowers? Or are you more abstract in your doodles. It’s amazing that,
when one doodles, they more generally match their page themes in an
excellent way, almost as though they are channeling themselves onto the
page.
Doodling is playing. Allowing that side of you to come out will allow
you to share a bit of you that they may not be aware of until they
experience your doodles. How cool is that? So just let your creativity
flow. Don’t get taken in by perfection or details. Just let it flow as
you did back in the high school days when you were drawing hearts and
interchanging your last name for that of another’s. The warmth of your
personality will be caught forever on that page as you let yourself come
out and play for those you love to see.
If you feel any hesitation at all, or cannot bear to take the chance
of putting something on the page you cannot get off, then get yourself
some old card stock and practice! Doodle as you watch television. Doodle
as you visit via telephone. You may be surprise to see what begins to
flow, and notice how your stress level is improving. That’s right, it’s
doodling! If you cannot get past the fear of doodling, then consider
using a doodle rub on! You can always use a stitched rub on for a great
look and feel.
If you are wondering where to start doodling, think of your borders
around your words and tie in your doodling with simple embellishments if
you wish. Sketching a border around a picture is a nice touch to
consider. Doodling can bring a new life to your layouts! Sometimes you
can find yourself stuck when it comes to expressing thoughts and
feelings in words. The way to overcome this is to always ask yourself
the W. questions. Which are: Who, what, where, when, and why? In
answering those questions, you will cover the subject thoroughly. If the
individuals in the photo can add thoughts and feelings, that’s all the
better. So ask and you may be surprised by their take on the moment.
Laugh and have a good time with the process. It will surely be conveyed
in your pages as warmth and love of life.
When enjoying yourself and knowing that these are moments that you
are going to later scrapbook, carry a small notebook with you. Jot down
your feelings and thoughts to later draw upon as you create your layout
and do the page. Quotes are wonderful, and written down soon after they
are said, will help you record what it was that was worth remembering.
